The term "PPO" commonly refers to a "Pension Payment Order" in the context of government or military pensions. A Pension Payment Order is a document issued by the government or a pension sanctioning authority that provides details about the amount of pension, the pensioner's personal information, and other relevant details. Here are the key details typically found in a Pension Payment Order:

  1. Pensioner's Information:

    • Full name of the pensioner
    • Personal identification details (such as date of birth, address, and contact information)
    • Pensioner's identification number
  2. Service Details:

    • Details of the pensioner's service, including the department or organization served
    • Service number or employee code
    • Date of retirement or discharge
  3. Pension Details:

    • Breakdown of the pension amount, including basic pension and any allowances
    • Commutation details (if applicable)
    • Date from which the pension is effective
  4. Bank Account Information:

    • Bank account details where the pension will be credited
    • Name and address of the bank branch
    • Type of account (savings, current, etc.)
    • Bank account number and the Indian Financial System Code (IFSC)
  5. Payment Frequency:

    • Information on how frequently the pension will be paid (usually monthly)
  6. Pensioner's Photograph:

    • Some PPOs may include a recent photograph of the pensioner for identification purposes.
  7. Pension Sanctioning Authority:

    • Details of the authority or department that sanctioned the pension
  8. Reference Number and Date:

    • A unique reference number and the date on which the PPO is issued
  9. Legal and Regulatory Information:

    • Any legal or regulatory clauses, terms, or conditions related to the pension
  10. Contact Information:

 • Original PPO & the Corrigendum PPO are the most important document after retirement. Corrigendum PPOs are issued when any change in the structure of basic pension or any correction in the service, personal particulars are made
. • Please check through each column and row carefully the following:-
 ▪ Personal details (spellings) of self and spouse should be aligned with all documents viz. Service Documents (Service/ Discharge Booklet), Aadhar, PAN, Bank, DL, Passport etc
. ▪ Army No, rank and name should be correct.
 ▪ Date of birth, enrolment/commission, and commencement of pension.

 ▪ Qualifying Service in terms of years/month/days.
 ▪ Type of pension - Service/Disability/War Injury/Family Pension-LFP, SFP, OFP/Dependent.
 ▪
 Gratuity & ECHS contribution. ▪ Amount and date of Absolute Commutation (It could be in variance with date of retirement)

. ▪ Details of Spouse - Name and date of birth and aligned with with all documents viz. Service Documents (Service/ Discharge Booklet), Aadhar, PAN, Bank, DL, Passport etc. (In case only age and year of birth is mentioned-approach DIAV/ Col Veterans/ Records Office/ ORO)

. ▪ Rate of Family Pension - LFP/SFP/OFP including the enhanced rate.

 ▪ Details of children/Dependents.

 ▪ In case of handicap child, widowed/divorced/unmarried daughter’s name should be endorsed in PPO.

 ▪ Details of Bank and account number - ensure it is a joint account with the spouse (Primary Account Holder – Pensioner)
